First Act of the Territorial Legislature, 1822

This first act of Florida's Territorial Legislature in 1822 divided the territory into four counties and established local courts. This act is from a series containing the original acts, resolutions, and memorials of the Territorial Legislature (1822-1844) and State Legislature (1845-ongoing). The acts were filed with the Secretary of the Territory prior to 1845 and then with Secretary of State after statehood according to Chapter 15.07, Florida Statutes.
