I remember when Leroy Collins was Governor in the ’50s. Also, I met Senator Claude Pepper when he came to our civics class at South Miami Jr. High in 1958. He was the man who championed Senior rights, which my husband and I now are!
Every year I wait for a recurrence of this mystical, so non-Florida occurrence. So far, no dice. Bummer!
