Dear Dr:
To my knowledge there never was any licensing of
midwives in the State of Florida.
Some physicians are rather disposed kindly toward the old
grannies in their families and have no doubt given a
certificate that they were capable and could be trusted.
But aside from that there has been nothing in this
Direction that I know of and certainly no legal enactment.
I would XX not encourage the practice.
