Tinikling was inspired by the movements of the graceful tikling birds in the grass and among tree branches. It is the Philippine national dance.

The participants are Bituin Cuevas and Estrella Fernandez, dancers, and Leopoldo de Guzman and Constante Luna, "beaters".
