President of Southern States Land and Timber Company. For 40 years, Yonge and his son Julian gathered the most extensive collection of historical material relating to Florida in the state. The collection was given to the University of Florida by Julien in 1944 as a memorial to his father and is the foundation of the P. K. Yonge Library of Florida History at the University of Florida. Yonge was also a founder of the Florida Historical Society and was president of the organization at the time of his death in 1934.
