Accompanying note: "Taken between 1907&1912 after high school before law school at Stetson (1912-1914). To get the job, he probably would have had to be 21; if so, this was taken between August 1911 and September 1912 when he started."
Biographical Note
Claude G. Varn was born in Ft. Meade in 1890. Attended Stetson University and later practiced law in St. Augustine with Frank Upchurch. Mr. Varn was a major developer of A1A in Flagler County. Claude Varn was honored in 1964 when the Florida Legislature directed that the present Matanzas Inlet bridge span be named for him.
