All slides are copies of black and white photos owned by Mat Roland. The photos were copied by the Florida Folklife Program on August 5, 1986.
Mat Roland was born in Portugal but emigrated to Florida with his family in 1937 so that his father, Matias, could fish for bluefish. Mat Roland became the owner of Roland Seafood in Mayport, Florida. His father also owned a fish house.
