He was born in Carrollton, GA, on February 5, 1887. Married Vera Cole. Moved to Miami in 1925 and took the oath as a Miami Police Officer on December 2, 1925. Died on September 25, 1927 from a reportedly accidental shot by friend, L.C. Beacher. His name is inscribed (East Wall, Panel 44, Line 17) on the National Law Enforcement Memorial in Washington, D.C.
