Biographical Note
She came with her family from France as a young girl. Her father was a friend of General LaFayette and they came to settle the LaFayette Land Grant after the Revolutionary War. LaFayette's agent cheated them out of the land. Her parents and some siblings died. Her father was a Mason in France and the Masons took Marie Louise and the other survivors. She married John Louis DeMilly in 1834.
