Biographical Note
Augustus Bernard Byrd was born in Tallahassee in 1890, son of Rebecca "Rubie" Bernard and Thomas Blake Byrd. Enlisted during WW I on December 11, 1917. Honorably discharged on July 26, 1919 on demobilization. He lived in the Tallahassee area most of his life and collected photographs related to Tallahassee and Florida history.
