Topics include leaving Texas for the circus as teen; types of shows; circus traveling and transportation; tents used; differences between carnivals and circuses; history of John Ringling; the types of circuses in the 1920s and 1930s; South Florida circuses; jobs he held; medicine shows; and competition between circuses. Material used for the public radio program, Florida Home: Showtown USA. Copies of the programs can be found in S 1576, box 16, tapes C85-14.
