County of St. Johns./ Know all men by these presents, that I James Pellicer of the County of St. Johns, in the State of Florida, am held and firmly bound unto the State of Florida, in the sum of Two Hundred Dollars, for the payment whereof well and truly to be made, I do bind myself, my heirs, Executors and Administrators firmly by these presents.
Signed and Sealed this 27[th] day of August AD 1852_
The Condition of this Obligation is such, that if Luke, a Slave of Abraham Dupont, against whom a Judgment was Entered on the 23[rd] Day of August of this year 1852, To wit "That the said Luke, a Slave, be Imprisoned in the Jail of St. Johns County, for the space of Three Calendar Months from the Twenty Third day of the present Month of August, in accordance with the verdict of the Jury, heretofore , to wit: At the Last Term of this Court on the 5[th] day of November, AD. 1851, Rendered, And that he Pay the Costs of this Prosecution; And that he Stand Committed until the Judgment of the Court shall be Complied with, or He given Bond according to the Law", shall be personally forthcoming to answer and abide the Final Order, Sentence, or Judgment that may be passed in the premises by the Supreme Court; and in case the Cause is Remanded to the Circuit Court, then that the said Luke shall personally be and appear at the next Term of the Circuit Court of this County, thereafter to be held, to answer in the premises, and not depart from the Court without leave thereof; then this obligation to be void, otherwise to remain in full force and virtue.
