Burt Reynolds receives honorary doctorate from FSU.
Sliger was president of Florida State University (FSU) from 1977 to 1991 (and again as interim president from 1993 to 1994). A native of Trout Creek, Michigan, he previously worked for Louisiana State University. He also held a doctorate from Michigan State University. He died 10 October 2007.
