Biographical Note
In 1957 Nashville, Chattanooga and St. Louis Railway was absorbed as part of Louisville and Nashville Railroad Company.
Nashville, Chattanooga & St. Louis Railroad; probably absorbed by Louisville & Nashville Railroad.
Louisville and Nashville Railroad; chartered March, 1850; opened for business, Nov. 1, 1859.
St. Louis and Southeastern Railway Company; 1874 placed in receivership and sold to Nashville and Chattanooga; Kentucky and Tennessee divisions previously sold to Louisville and Nashville Railroad Company.
The line of the Louisville and Nashville Railroad Company, within the borders of Florida, consists principally of a 44.54-mile line of entry, extending from Flomaton, Alabama, (formerly referred to as Pensacola Junction), to Pensacola, Fla., and a 161-mile line, running eastward from the latter city to River Junction.
