Description
Slave bill of sale resulting from a foreclosure on the mortgage of William Maner of Gadsden County, Florida. Maner had mortgaged three slaves, Joannah, Jeff, and Sarah to the Union Bank. The mortgage was record by the Gadsden County Clerk of Court. Edward C. Cabell and Charles H. Dupont were appointed commissioners by the Leon County Superior Court to effect the sale of the three slaves after Maner was unable to meet his obligations on the mortgage. The slaves were sold to William Monroe at public auction for $700. The ages of the slaves are not listed.
