Pestilence, Potions, and Persistence: Early Florida Medicine

Documents included in the exhibit range from descriptions of the health effects of travel in the new territory from some of Tallahassee's first citizens, to recollections of midwives who worked during the 1930s.

Dr.Davidson's Medical Journal

This exhibit contains Dr. John Davidson's volume of remedies and recipes to cure various illnesses and to treat diseases. The book, dated August 3, 1843, covers treatments for such sicknesses as pneumonia and consumption to recipes for laxatives and expurgants.
